If you like lotteries and 17th century European warfare, we’ve got you covered: strategy masters GSC Game World has announced the beta tester sign-ups for the upcoming game Cossacks 3 earlier last week. We couldn’t be more excited. I mean, it’s only been ten years since the last Cossacks game and a lot has changed since then. But it certainly looks like it’s shaping up… at least from the teasers GSC’s been slipping us for a while now. My, how time flies (and how awesome strategy games are starting to look nowadays):
If marching thousands of troops, waging war, and building empires is your cup of tea, you can toss your name in the ring through the Cossacks 3 beta sign-up, which you can fill out via Google Docs here. While GSC is “planning to have several waves of testers,” this first wave will be chosen according to “gaming experience, PC specifications, [and] age” among other demographics. Regardless if you get into the beta, everyone will get the chance to wrest control over Europe as Cossacks 3 is set for release sometime this year.
Until then, you can follow along with the game’s devblog or oggle at the teaser trailers they’ve released so far. At least the wait for the game — whether as a beta or full release — isn’t nearly as painful as Russian roulette. Though I suppose in that case if you win, it’s not painful at all… hmm…
