Attention, Don’t Starve fans! Indie developers Klei Entertainment and Capybara Games have teamed up to bring us the latest expansion – with a nautical twist! Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked introduces the new sailing mechanic which enables you to take to the high seas, exploring the ocean in your journey to survive the wild.
Craft vessels from lowly log rafts to armored boats – and beyond. Hear the quiet lapping of the waves and the sounds of unknown animals as they swoop through the trees, watching your every move as you huddle close to your tiny fire. Fear the shadowy figures that lurk beneath the waves as you pilot your rickety raft from island to island! There are loads of new cooking and crafting recipes available as well for the savvy seafarer. At the measly price of $4.99 (currently on sale for $4.50), why would anyone want to miss out on experiences such as:
Being surrounded by thieving monkeys?
Friendly creatures of the wild?
And being lost at sea after dark?
The base game (which, by the way, is required for this DLC) gave us surprising depth and replayability last year, and from what I’ve seen of Shipwrecked, this’ll be another harrowing and difficult struggle for survival that lives up to the precedent set by Don’t Starve. Keep your clothes dry and your vessels afloat – here there be monsters.
