For those of you who’ve been waiting patiently for TaleWorlds to update us on their latest entry to the Mount & Blade series, FINALLY SOME NEWS AT LAST! The developer has announced that they’ll be showing off around 40 minutes of never-before-seen Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord gameplay footage at PC Gamer’s new Weekender event in London between March 5 – 6.
According to the official Bannerlord session page, TaleWorlds’ Community Manager Frank Elliott and Animator Sten Oom will be around to demo the new game and field your burning questions from 1:00pm – 2:00pm GMT on both Saturday, March 5 and Sunday, March 6.
In case you’re late to the party, Bannerlord is the prequel to the successful Mount & Blade series, taking place roughly two centuries before Warband while the Calradian Empire was still a thing. With “a new engine [that] boasts expanded features, even better mod support, and vastly improved graphics,” it’ll be interesting to see if this newcomer can take up the mantle of its older brother, who’s been the favorite of many modders, line battle enthusiasts, and Viking wannabes for almost six years now.
From what we’ve seen so far though, Bannerlord looks like it’s going to be around for a lot longer than that. Well… when it ships.
Until then, gaze upon this video of Bannerlord gameplay from Gamescom 2015:
